A love story between lawyers that doesn't need a prenup.Lord Lawrence Byron thinks he's losing his mind; though he's always been an unashamed lady's man, he's suddenly become mildly obsessed with a fellow lawyer, Ross Carrow. So he's relieved when he discovers that Ross is, in fact, Rosamund, a young woman disguised in order to try cases in court. Rosamund, who learned the law from her father, has leaped into public practice after his untimely death to help her brother. Lawrence, smitten and intrigued, agrees to keep her secret, and as they fall for each other, her disguise allows them to spend far more time alone (and in bed) together than typical unmarried men and women of the Regency era. But as Rosamund comes to the last of her father's cases, the large gap in their social standing looms, and both face a life-changing decision. This third entry in the Rakes of Cavendish Square series is enhanced by the appearance of other Byron siblings, but readers can jump right in with this volume. Warren (Happily Bedded Bliss, 2016, etc.) creates a sweet but intense chemistry between the pair that holds the plot together well. The backdrop of the story will appeal to fans of TV shows like The Good Wife and Silk--although the narrative tends to skip much of the legal action in the courtroom, it doesn't skip any of the action in the bedroom. Justice may be blind, but love has its eyes wide open throughout this satisfying story.
