At the ripe old age of 28, she has neither the time nor the need for the opposite sex. Jane is aided by Poppy, the cat that comes with Spinster House, who strikes fear in the hearts of men. Alex, Earl of Evans, having just been jilted by his fiancee, is in no hurry to repeat his mistake. However, Poppy tolerates Alex, which has to be a sign of something. Friends and relatives alike feel that Alex and Jane belong together. All they need is a little (maybe not so subtle) push.
