While on vacation in Ireland, Gannon and Wyatt visit medieval castles, climb the Cliffs of Moher, and explore the ancient Newgrange monument. But after Gannon kisses the Blarney Stone their adventure takes a dramatic turn. While volunteering on a farm to connect with their Irish roots, they learn that a deadly blight is wreaking havoc on the Irish farmland. Determined to uncover the true cause, the courageous explorers embark on a secret mission to gather evidence against a ruthless suspect, but soon find themselves running for their lives. Ultimately, they must rely on their wilderness survival skills and Gannon's "gift of gab" if they hope to bring justice to their ancestral home.
In the tradition of the historic journals kept by explorers such as Lewis and Clark, Dr. David Livingstone, and Captain James Cook comes the adventure series Travels with Gannon and Wyatt. From Africa to the South Pacific, these twin brothers have traveled the world. You never know what they will encounter as they venture into the wild, but one thing is certain wherever Gannon and Wyatt go, adventure is their constant companion.

Gr 4-6-The globetrotting brothers are back-this time exploring their ancestral roots in Ireland. Written in journal entries peppered with photos, the book takes the boys to medieval castles and the Cliffs of Moher, and Gannon even kisses the famed Blarney Stone. But their good times are put on hold when a blight threatens the countryside and the duo must uncover the cause. As in the previous installments, a strong theme about the importance of environmental conservation underscores the Indiana Jones-esque action. With elements of mystery, adventure, and history, this series will please a variety of middle grade readers.

Following trips to Botswana and Great Bear Rainforest, this third installment in the series based on real-life brothers Gannon and Wyatt Wheeler sees the eponymous teenage twins journeying to Egypt to take part in an archaeological dig, in search of the fabled tomb of Cleopatra. Intellectual Gannon and wisecracking Wyatt squabble and attempt to one-up each other as they venture into the desert, where they brave sandstorms and their individual doubts and fears. When they find a long-lost tomb, which may belong to Egypt's legendary last Pharaoh, they must contend with booby traps and unscrupulous people bent on taking the treasure for themselves. Wheeler and Hemstreet pack this slim adventure full of facts and trivia, as well as photos and drawings, lending it an educational slant. With clear nods to Indiana Jones and other adventure stories, the fast-paced plot and engaging characters are sure to appeal to a young audienceâparticularly those familiar with sibling rivalryâwho may be inspired to learn more about the associated Youth Exploration Society. Ages 9â12.
