      Rather than ending with Charlie's father's rescue (Charlie Bone and the Hidden King), this poorly constructed series adds on a post-climactic volume. Charlie releases wereboy Asa Pike from captivity and confronts the newest magically gifted student at Bloor's Academy. Despite pointless plot episodes that sap tension, the series contains enough novelty to hold readers. Expect more installments: apparently there's a missing will.
