"Krik? Krak!  Haitian Storytelling Session - Short Story Reading in Creole and English" is a book of stories written in Haitian Creole and English.  It was designed to help the Creole and English learners familiarize themselves with Haitian storytelling, culture, and way of life.  In Haiti, each storytelling session starts with Krik?.  The audience answers Krak! Not so long ago, parents used to make time to narrate and make up stories specially after dinner or soupe.  It was a time of relaxation on the front porch on moonlit nights.  It was time to laugh and share with all the members of the household.

Parents used to start telling their stories with one of these phrases, "Once upon a time, Il était une fois, Vwala se te yon fwa, Érase una vez."
